Identity

I know from my own experience that it can be a long journey to get to the point where we can embrace our identity.

There are many parts to our identity. Nationality, race, culture and gender are only some of them.

However, we are often unhappy with some of the characteristics that form our personhood and try to push them aside.

Sometimes we find it difficult to accept our race or nationality because we perceive it as a disadvantage for our future. Other times it is our womanhood or manhood that we find difficult to accept. We may think that we are not beautiful enough or strong enough.

if we choose not to embrace any aspects of our lives, there will be something missing and the complete person that we are supposed to become will not develop, therefore we will be denying the brilliant future that God has imagined for us.

We have been endowed with natural gifts, spiritual gifts, qualities, strengths and characteristics that are unique to us. They are uniquely combined to qualify us for our purpose and assignment in life.

Be encouraged, there are no mistakes in your real identity, discover and welcome it and then rejoice in who you have been created to be.

Thanks for reading.
