September 2022 has seen two major changes in Great Britain.
Firstly, a new Prime Minister was elected and immediately after that, Queen Elisabeth II passed away.
The passing of the Queen has greatly impacted my husband and myself. I think it is true to say that it has impacted the whole nation of Great Britain and many other countries as well.
The monarch has left a great legacy behind her. She was a stabilizing factor in the nation and held things together for 70 years.
Elisabeth lived a life of integrity, she had a strong faith in Jesus and lived her life according to her conviction.
While I meditated on these things, the following words of a song came to me.
“Let us run the race as those who have gone before us,
let us leave to those behind us
the heritage of faithfulness passed on through godly lives.
may all who come behind us find us faithful”.
I believe the Queen was faithful to her call, lived a godly life and fulfilled her purpose in life even to the very last day.
She has been a great example to follow.
Let us be likewise. May those who come behind us find us faithful to our call and purpose in life.
