Throw the net where He tells you.

Writer: Mercedes BellMercedes Bell

How many times has Jesus asked you to use your boat for His Kingdom purposes?.

The boat could be anything you own or hold dear, i.e property, or even our time.

The problem with not lending Him our boat is that we will miss a great blessing, and most probably the great future and the purpose that He has assigned to us. A future to do us good and to prosper us.

When Jesus asked Peter if he could use his boat to preach to the multitudes by the lake of Gennesaret, Jesus already knew what was going to happen after He finished preaching. He was going to give Peter guidance as to where he should throw the net in order to catch fish.

Because Peter decided to believe and obey the Word of Jesus, although it was contrary to everything he humanly knew, he was able to receive the blessing of the extraordinary catch and also he became a conduit for James and John to receive a miraculous provision.

Jesus wanted the three men to follow Him full time, and He knew that a miracle of provision will demonstrate to them that they will never lack anything if they followed Jesus full time.

It amazes me how Jesus had seen the whole picture even before He approached Peter to borrow his boat. However, He was not just going to ask Peter, James and John to follow Him without first revealing to them a bit of who He was.

He knows what He has planned for each one of our lives and He knows the steps we need to take to get to our destination. He guides us in amazing, yet strange ways.

He may want to borrow something from us. If we agree, then He may ask us to do something we do not agree with. However, the wonderful thing is that if we believe and obey Him and do what He is asking us to, we will see a wonderful miracle in our lives and we will get to the destination that he has in His heart for us.

Thanks for reading.
